how to be a genuine fake

Every day we're faking it, some of us more successfully than others. What makes the CEO able to live up to his or her role? How does the successful salesperson clinch the deal? If professional experience, knowledge and technical know-how are complemented with personal confidence, status and nerve, we immediately increase our chances of success.

The roles we adopt and the roles we are given in our private and professional lives can rest uneasily on us, like ill-fitting masks. Unless we fully understand the need to integrate ourselves with our colleagues, those around us and our environment, progress is difficult.

If we are secure in ourselves and our knowledge as integrated individuals, we will work with integrity and begin fully to embody and understand the real value and meaning of transactions. The fake part is the 'Show', the 'Business', the 'Scenario'; but the 'actor' must be genuine and strive to live truthfully within fictional circumstances.
